A bit of a change from the league wonder what team he plays v Rochdale. It’s on t.v. so they must be expecting an upset. I don’t think it would be the way we play. Still think we will win 2-0. Wink

Joelinton is fucking useless. £40m? I wouldn't pay 40p. The fans are getting on his back now as well. Whatever confidence he had will be shot to shit. He needs to go on loan at a non-league club.

Mike Ashley bought JL for 40 million?
Sorry but he didn't and wouldn't unless there was more book fiddling - one more reason why he will never sell

There's definitely something amiss there isn't there? That'll be £40m out of the club's coffers. It'll have to be. Was there an intermediary, though, and how much did Hoffenheim actually receive (or will receive)? It's very suspect.

I'm convinced that Dwight Gayle would have bagged a hattrick today had he played. DeYedlin had so much space to play in he was able to put decent crosses in throughout the first half. It was almost like having Nobby back, quality crosses and cut-backs regularly being pinged into the box. Before anyone slates me - DeYedlin is in no way comparable to Nobby. He had the freedom of the park today whereas Nobby always had to work past or through defenders in order to get his balls into the box. Sometimes with 3 defenders on him. It was also a crime seeing all of those crosses go to waste. There were a few saved but not as many that nobody got on the end of as I remember.

The service today was as good as I've seen for a while. The excuse that the forwards aren't getting the service was completely debunked by demonstration. Joelinton was woeful. It's like he doesn't know the significance of a white rectangle. Muto wasn't much better either though.

£40m down the drain if that is the correct amount which would seem rather doubtful today was an opportunity to fill his boots he was awful no other word to describe his performance.

I found myself wanting for Joelinton to succeed. I see glimpses in him that I like. A number 9 he is not though, nor ever was. Neither is he a natural goal scorer. Let's not forget that Rafa didn't want him, certainly at that price. Imagine what Rafa would have done with a £40 mill kitty to work with.

I am in definite agreement that the deal stinks to high heaven but cannot put me finger on it. Just like having a dead rat in the house, you just cant place where the smell is coming from.

That kid in the Alice band was a revelation, full of running and sheer youthful enthusiasm and exuberance. I laughed when he stood at the touchline waiting to come on. At first I thought it was a lass, honest. That game was a perfect example of the phrase, "its a game of two halves." They deserve a replay at the very least and if we are being honest, come the final whistle we are lucky to be still in it.
