Fat cunt loves to move the goal posts. 400 million he apparently wants now. Accounts in a mess. Training ground that needs a lot of work and a squad that's in bad shape.

I don't understand the gamble this cunt keeps taking. Surely he sees that supporting Rafa would be more cost effective than losing him and ourr best players. Getting a shit manager in and being relegated again.

Fucks sake.

They valuation seems to be at odds with the standing of the club. On one hand he tells us that the club isn't able to compete financially with the top 6. Then fails to have the club compete financially with the bottom 10. Then on the other hand he values it as one of the most expensive clubs in the Premier League.

What a loathsome, excessively girthed twat.

That's what leads me to believe he is here forever or until sometime gives him ridiculous amounts of money for the club. Like over 500million.

Nothing will change either. Any protests will only have so much of an effect. Those who cancel season tickets and walk away will be replaced by new people.

Either sports direct dies off and he needs money fast or he is jailed for something dodgy. Or the fat bastard simply dies. That's all we have to hope for. How depressing.

Nothing will change as long as he owns the club. He’s quite happy to sit back and watch us struggle. Even the season just gone there were periods of time when we struggled. We managed to survive comfortably due to Rafa and the playing staff, it had nothing to do with Ashley. He doesn’t give a shite about the supporters as long as he makes money!

Well, if Rafa doesn't get any decent treatment (signed statements of intent) it's more than likely he will walk. There's no self respecting manager who would put up with being constantly lied to the way Rafa has (and I said no self respecting manager!) so you'll end up with yes men again-Pardew's free! then without the half decent players we've got, as they'll not want to be here, we will end up being relegated again, BUT won't come back up 1st time round and will more than likely continue dropping league like s*nderland has.  That's what Ashley will get and be forced into either the club going into administration or selling at a huge loss!

It'll be a helluva thing to happen but will get rid of fatty. We'll have to bite the bullet an start all over again but it should be for the better. The fans who have continued goinging have had 11 years to do something positive like chucking their season ticket in -we did- and not buy anything at all to do with NUFC/SD as all that money goes straight to Shirebrook-he made sure of that.

The sheep here haven't helped and I'm wondering why SD stores haven't been mentioned-boycott, windows put in, protest outside or inside-outside would be better as draw more attention. Tell the media/press first then let all hell break loose. Other clubs have had bother with chairmen etc and have done something about it, instead of coming online whinging for 11 years about it-we've protested once inside the stadium, but instead of keeping it up, we gave up saying it didn't work! of course it didn't as going to take a lot more than one protest!! It's got to kept up-stewards can't keep stopping fans as too many fans!

The authoritative Swiss Ramble has added his comments on Newcastle United's 2016/17 accounts. He notes, 'Revenue has decreased by £1m since Ashley’s arrival in 2007 from £87m to £86m, despite £22m more central TV money. Commercial has fallen by £13m (46%), while match day is £10m (30%) lower. In fairness, 2017/18 revenue in PL will be much higher, estimated at £175-180m.'

It should be noted that if one factored in inflation, the £1m decline would look larger. Using the Bank of England inflation calculator £87m would be £110.8m in 2016 so the real decline in revenue is almost £24m.

He also notes, 'Over the years player sales have had a decent impact on Newcastle United profits contributing £180m since 2008. The club would have made small losses without this activity until 2014.' Average net spend under Ashley has been around £6m a year.

According to the Deloitte Money League Newcastle United had the 14th highest revenue in the world in 2007 before Ashley’s takeover, just £19m lower than the 10th placed club. In 2017 this gap has soared to £263m. Based on 17/18 estimate, Newcastle would be in 19th position, just ahead of Napoli.

'Commercial income should increase in 17/18, thanks to new shirt sponsor Fun88, reportedly worth £6m a year, plus first sleeve sponsor MRF Tyres. Puma have been the club’s kit supplier since 2010.'

However, 'Not only is the club's commercial income lower than £28m that Ashley inherited, but they have fallen way behind rivals, e.g. gap to Tottenham Hostpur has grown from £11m to £58m in that time.' The Swiss Ramble argues, 'The ubiquitous presence of Sports Direct advertising surely puts off other potential partners.'

The club 'enjoyed the fifth highest wage bill in England before Ashley bought it in 2007, but in 10 years this has risen by just £20m (34%) from £60m to £80m, while others have increased wages by significantly more, e.g. Tottenham Hotspur up £83m (190%) from £44m to £127m, so Newcastle dropped to 15th.'

'Nerwcastle's £152m debt is about twice as much as the £77m Ashley took on in 2007 and is the highest in his reign. It’s the first time an overdraft has been required since 2013. It was the second highest in the Championship, only below Brighton £207m (new stadium & training ground).'

Nowhere near as bad as the club have tried to make out once you strip out the provisions.

The wage bill though is a bit baffling having risen £37.5m - included in this is a one off provision to write off certain players contracts of £21m & promotion bonus of £10m. Still that means the overall basic wage bill increased £6.5m - fair enough Rafa & his staff will be on a lot more than we will of paid out the year earlier - but I cannot see how Ritchie, clark & Gayle we’re given contracts more than Townsend, colo & cisse!

Anyway back to the overall accounts - the loss looks bad but The £90m loss (before profit/loss on sales) is made up of:-
Loss of £40m income - this will of increased by a minimum of £100m for last season
The above extra provision & bonus on wages of £31m - the provision will be a one off charge to the accounts
A provision for the HMRC case - the value of which wasn’t identified individually - again a one off charge to the accounts

Ashley had to put more cash in but I expect him to have taken that extra back out in last season.
We were owed £60m from players sold whole owed out £25m for players bought - he’d of used that difference to take his additional loan back

The accounts showed we cannot afford to drop again as failure to come back up straight away will be catastrophic in the long term
